How a search for cleaner, simpler protein led to a different way of making it.

Faunus, known as the Roman god of livestock, agriculture and forests, was seen as a protector of nature and everything that grows within it.
In a modern world dominated by processed and chemical-heavy food, that idea still matters.
Faunus Nutrition is built around that same principle, creating products that protect what matters most, the quality of what you put into your body.
Shaking without the side effects
My name is Lars, founder of Faunus Nutrition.
From the age of 14, I spent most of my time in the gym with one goal, to get bigger, stronger and more confident.
Like many others, I followed the same path, training hard and using every supplement I came across.
But instead of feeling better, I started experiencing the opposite.
Protein shakes left me feeling bloated, uncomfortable and constantly dealing with stomach issues. What was supposed to support my health was doing the exact opposite.
At some point, I started asking a simple question.
How can something that is meant to be healthy, feel this bad?

For many people, these are the reasons protein powders don’t feel as good as they should.
A different starting point
Instead of adding more ingredients, we started by taking them away.

Just a focus on what actually matters.
The next step was removing lactose entirely.
A different way of making protein
To reduce the chance of discomfort as much as possible, we turned to a process that has been used for centuries.
Fermentation.
By fermenting the ingredients, the protein structure is naturally broken down before it reaches your body. This creates a different, lighter experience compared to standard protein powders.
It also helps reduce the natural defence compounds found in plant-based ingredients, making them easier to use.
This approach isn’t new.
It’s been used for years in areas like baby nutrition, where digestibility is essential.
Focused on quality, not shortcuts
At Faunus Nutrition, we don’t just look at how protein performs in the short term, we also care about long-term quality.
That’s why we choose certified organic ingredients and avoid pesticides, artificial additives and unnecessary processing.
To make sure we meet those standards, every batch is carefully controlled and tested.
Because it’s not just about what you put into your body today, but what you choose consistently over time.
Building a new standard
After more than two and a half years of development, the first batch of Faunus Nutrition protein was finally ready in August 2023.
What started as a personal search for a better protein turned into a product built around a different standard.
A standard focused on simplicity, quality and long-term thinking.
Our goal is simple.
To help more people make better, more conscious choices when it comes to what they put into their body.
And this is just the beginning.
